The Meet Metis Q&A: Hannah Murray, account executive

April 20, 2017
I knew Hannah would add something special to our Metis chemistry when she introduced me to the value of giant-sized Diet Coke cans, educated me about New Orleans and taught me something new about social media content within the same conversation. During her first month, she jumped in on account work when a team member was on vacation and blew us away with her ability to quickly comprehend a client's voice and ask questions about the strategy behind our tactics.

Hannah's background in social media coupled with her knowledge of the media make her the ultimate teammate. As a dedicated bookworm, she brings her love of learning to our team every single day to help us move with purpose and do remarkable work.

At Metis, everyone encourages each other to think creatively and push the envelope with new ideas and approaches. Nobody is content sticking with the status quo.

What were you up to before you came to Metis?
I was working at a digital marketing startup here in Boston where I worked on social media and email marketing campaigns. I still love social and marketing here at Metis.

What’s your favorite Metis benefit?
Our work from home policy. This article sums up how I feel about remote work. If you trust your employees, trusting them to work outside of the office, too, just makes sense.

Do you have a favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. A holiday that's totally dedicated to being with your friends and family and thinking about everything that makes your life wonderful? I'm there.

Tell us about the best concert you've ever been to.
The best concert I've ever been to is Jazz Fest in New Orleans. I went to college in New Orleans, and it really does get into your bloodstream. One of my favorite memories of living there was spending the day outside listening to amazing music at Jazz Fest, stopping for a sno-ball on my way home, then taking the kind of nap you can only take when you've gotten a little too much sun.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza. Fun fact: I once made myself give up pizza for a month because I realized I had eaten it seven times in seven days for the second time in two months. I thought it would make me feel accomplished, but all that I learned from it is that I should never waste another month of my life depriving myself of one of my favorite things.
