The Meet Metis Q&A: Christina Andrade, director of operations

June 20, 2017

“Guys, take some sandwiches home!”

“I’m running to the bank. Does anyone need anything while I’m out?”

“This new recipe I found for [insert healthy food] is SO good.”

“Don’t forget to add your hours to ClickTime!”

BlogChristina.jpgThese are just some of the quotes you’ll hear from Christina around the office on any given day, and if you can’t tell from these quotes, Metis truly relies on Christina as the backbone of our team. Christina takes care of the team and our business – from getting us to try spin classes and organizing our summer outings to making sure invoices and payroll are accurate and on time, and ensuring our 401(k) paperwork is all complete.

In addition to managing financial, office and HR matters, Christina is your go-to person when you just need to add some pep to your day. Her positive energy is contagious, and Christina genuinely cares about Metis and each individual team member. Christina’s business savvy and commitment to the team help us live up to our mission of doing our best work ever.

What's one thing you love about Metis?

I’m constantly challenged by some of the smartest people I’ve come across. I’m always learning something new and the opportunities to grow here are endless. Also, no matter the obstacles that come our way during the day, we can always laugh about it later.

What were you up to before you came to Metis?

Prior to Metis, I was working as a senior fund accountant at JPMorgan Chase.

What’s your favorite Metis benefit?

This question is always so hard for me because I love them all. It all comes down to the flexibility. It’s a toss-up between our Summer Fridays and the option to work remotely whenever we want. I mean, who wouldn’t love working by the beach on a Friday and closing up shop at 3 p.m. in the summer? It’s still early enough for some sun and late enough for a cocktail.

What's one thing you've learned since starting at Metis?

Your growth and career path is what you make it. Also, Google is my bestie.

What would your perfect weekend consist of?

Family, friends, sunshine, brunch, a good workout and lots of laughs.

Tell us about the best meal you've ever had.

Is it weird to say I haven’t had it yet? Because I think the best meal will be at my wedding because of the people I’m sharing it with. :)

What TV show do you binge watch?

I blew through all 5 seasons of Friday Night Lights in less than a month. I’m still in mourning it’s over. Texas forever.
